Positive Posters

About

Socially Responsible design begins in Melbourne 2009.

Founded by graphic designer, Nick Hallam, in February 2009,  Positive Posters is an international poster design competition that gives graphic design students/professionals, illustrators and other creatives the opportunity to visually communicate socially positive messages to the world.

Each year a design theme is chosen and a competition is held. Designers are asked to respond to that years theme and submit a poster design. Once the competition is closed the entries are shortlisted and presented at an exhibition in Melbourne, Australia where winning poster is unveiled.

Through fund raising and donations, Positive Posters prints and distributes the winning poster around the world.

Our aim is to publish positive thought in places that need it most while bridging the gap between community and the international design community.

2009

In 2009 Positive Posters ran its first competition. We were astonished when we received 339 entries from 53 countries.

All of the entries as well as the photos from the exhibition are available to be view in our online gallery.

The judges from this years competition were.

David Berman – Canada
“In 2000, David Berman rededicated his career to leveraging his experience and credentials to help spread the idea that visual communications can, and will, help repair the World. David is dedicated to realizing graphic design’s potential to help improve the human condition and the global environment. He speaks at international and local conferences and writes about the important role graphic designers can play in enhancing social conditions around the world, as opposed to applying their skills to help organizations mislead their audiences or manufacture false needs.
