April 2012 marked our 4th birthday, hurray. What better time to reflect on our growth than when one turns the grand old age of four. That’s at least 28 in dog years.
After last year’s competition we decided to have a good hard look at what we had built, where we are now, and where we’d like to be.
What started as just an idea; a small project run by a couple of university friends – has grown into an international design competition, something we’re extremely proud of, that makes us want to be better and do better things, every day.
It also begs the following questions:
• Can Positive Posters grow even larger?
• Do we want to remain a community driven project or grow into a larger company with more employees?
We’ve thought, talked, yelled, and laughed. We’ve come up with some crazy ideas. We’ve chatted to design students and pro’s; we’ve listened and we’ve learned.
We’ve decided that small, significant changes overtime are the best thing for us, and you.
Firstly, Positive Posters will be around for many more launch parties, exhibitions, and design related shenanigans. Hurray again.
We’re not employing 30 people; we’re not selling out to Google.
We’re staying small but thinking big.
We want to continue to let our community – that’s you – help build and shape Positive Posters.
We’re happy to announce that the 2012 competition will be running – with a few small tweaks to ensure we can get the most out of it for everyone involved.
Here are the important dates for this year (put them in your calendar)
Competition Opens – August 1st
Competition Closes – September 30th
Cheers, thanks, love.
